HALLOWEEN AT AFFLECKS
Halloween at Afflecks: What's On This Halloweekend
Afflecks is getting ready for Halloween, with a weekend of activities planned across the building this spooky season. From creative workshops to wildlife conservation, there'll be plenty for visitors to get involved in alongside exploring our independent traders.
Alternative Fashion Week
Alternative Fashion Week Manchester takes place later this month and Afflecks is very excited to officially be taking part! We'll’ll be hosting our very own Fashion Show on Wednesday 21st October at 7pm, featuring loads of our independent traders.
Organised by our former trader Leesa (designer behind fashion label Pretty Disturbia), AFW is all about putting the spotlight on the more alternative, independent and underground side of fashion. It’s a chance to celebrate the designers, creatives, models and subcultures that don’t always get the attention they deserve in the traditional fashion world.

Ghost Tours
Back by popular demand, our after dark Ghost Tours will give visitors the chance to learn more about Afflecks' history, including spooky stories and reported ghost sightings from around the building.
Tours will take place on the 27th and 29th of October, at 7pm and 8:30 pm. Tickets are available here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/afflecks-after-dark-ghost-tour-tickets-2003545347067?aff=oddtdtcreator
Taxidermy Classes
Join Afflecks' resident taxidermist, Nevermore, for a hands-on Halloween taxidermy workshop and create your very own little witchy mouse! You’ll learn the whole process, from skinning to mounting, and take your finished mouse home. Beginners welcome, and all materials are provided.

Halloween Hook-a-Duck
Our vintage clothing store Sworn will be getting involved with a Halloween hook-a-duck station, giving visitors the chance to win prizes including Afflecks merchandise, vouchers and items from our independent traders.
The activity will be run throughout the day on the 31st of October and 1st of November, in Sworn on the 2nd floor.
Movie Screenings
Horror film enthusiasts Interference will be holding a series of screenings this Halloween, featuring both short films by indie creators and a mystery classic! The team will also be hosting a live music performance, and a talk from a horror artwork pro on how to break into the industry.
You can find Interference on our third floor!
Bear Hunt
Alt children’s clothing shop Outkasts will be a Halloween Bear Hunt around Afflecks! Keep your eyes peeled for their bear mascot, John, hiding in traders’ shops throughout the building. Find him, collect the letters and numbers, and tick them off your hunt sheet as you explore. Complete the hunt to claim a sweet treat at the finish.
The activity will be run throughout the day on the 31st of October and 1st of November, in Outkasts on the 1st floor.
RSPB Wildlife and Conservation
We'll also be welcoming the RSPB to Afflecks over Halloweekend! Their charity table will give visitors the chance to learn more about some of the UK's wildlife, including bats, crows and ravens, and the conservation work helping to protect them.
Visitors will also be able to browse a selection of items, including badges, with proceeds supporting the RSPB's work.
The RSPB will be located on our third floor, just outside Vinyl Resting Place, and will be joining us all day on the 31st of October and 1st of November!
Free Candyfloss
Our ground floor residents Occult are going to be handing out free candy floss to anyone who gives them a follow over the Halloweekend. They're going full vampire theme this year, so Twilight costumes are highly encouraged!
With a mix of independent traders, creative workshops and Halloween activities planned across the building, we're looking forward to celebrating Halloweekend with our community!
