Afflecks Fandom: An epic week of activities
We're ringing in the Spring holidays this year with a week-long, action packed schedule of daily activities to commemorate some of the amazing subcultures within our magical emporium. There'll be everything from an alternative Easter egg hunt, cosplay competitions and a launch party for our new Japanese fashion store!
The week of fun will kick off on Easter Monday (10th April) with The Alternative Afflecks Easter Egg Trail. Head to any of our entrances to collect an activity sheet full of clues to help you find all the hidden eggs. Each egg will reveal a letter needed for the secret password; once this is solved, fans will be able to redeem their chocolatey, gooey reward: a Cadbury’s Creme Egg!
Tuesday 11th April sees My Cat Likes Cheese celebrate their third birthday in Afflecks! Our shoppers can enter their prize draw, just head to Claire's shop on the third floor to find out more.
There’s also Afflecks vouchers up for grabs on Wednesday 12th April for any fancy dress fanatics as we'll be hosting our very own Cosplay Competition. Anyone who wants to be in with a chance of winning should head up to the first floor and locate our specially made selfie frame. Take a picture of your dazzling cosplay-character outfit and tag us @afflecks_manchester on Instagram!
Japanese fashion clothing brand, Tokyo Go, is also set to land in Afflecks on Thursday 13th April and will be bringing their super cute and quirky kawaii-inspired garments to the third floor. To open the new store in style they'll be throwing a launch party with some very special cosplay influencers joining them too.
Card Empire is up next on Friday 14th April. Located on the 1st floor, their team specialises in trading Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards and are running a Collectible Card Millionaire event. Here, customers are encouraged to bring their cards in store and they'll tell you how much they're worth! Some of these cards can go for thousands of pounds, so it might just be your lucky day.
The manga maids over at Animaid Cafe will also be throwing their own anime themed party. They’ll be hosting a Pokemon drawing competition on Saturday 15th April for all the Pikachu lovers.
Finally, fellow kawaii gifts and stationery retailer Concerned Sprout will be selling special Sprout Selection Boxes on Sunday 16th April. Fans can choose any 5 items from the shop for just £7.99.
So whether you’re a superfan or casually like your comics and cosplay, there’s loads of fun activities going on for the whole family to enjoy. See you soon!
